H&M cobalt skinnies (similar here) / H&M top / New York & Company cardigan (similar here) / SO leopard flats (similar here)
The weather is so weird right now. On Friday we had a school-closing snowstorm that dropped a few inches on us. By Saturday afternoon temperatures had gotten so mild and springy that most of it was gone.
Little bursts of warm(ish) sunshine like that make me even more impatient for spring. I just want to see some bits of green on those ugly, bare branches! And I want to be able to break out my flats again without kicking myself for it. Also, I don’t want to hear that dreaded “s” word again… at least until next winter (note to universe: I said winter. October is not winter!).
So what’s a girl to do? Continue trying to will spring into existence with bright pieces!
I decided to pair my cobalt skinnies with a green cardigan and my leopard flats. It’s kind of amazing how much good a little bit of bright colorblocking can do for your mood.
Remember how I was talking about my hair rut? Well, you can certainly see it in full effect here. I just grab it, twist it and clip it out of my way. This time I just happened to use a cheap scarf I picked up as a headband (even though my scarf was much smaller, I used Keiko Lynn’s tutorial).
Also, this isn’t the greatest picture but I made that necklace out of a vintage earring that was missing its match. I just removed the post, added a jump ring with some pliers, strung it on a vintage change and voila!
Last but not least, as a momma I can’t do anything without my girls getting involved. And that includes awkwardly having pictures taken of my outfit. Samantha thought I wasn’t being sassy enough. She had me get into this pose and said it was perfect.
